[General] Why use VoIP?

The most obvious benefit of VoIP service is that phone calls can be delivered over the Internet, which is much cheaper that they could be when over the traditional telephone networks. VoIP is simply taking advantage of the Internet, the existed huge network, and no needs of re-wiring as the traditional telephone network.

In general, phone service via VoIP costs less than equivalent service from traditional sources. There are also some cost savings by using a single network to carry voice and data. This is especially true when users have existing under-utilized network capacity that they can sue for VoIP without any additional costs.
