To solve the issues above, PLANET has launched a brand-new Long Reach PoE Solution to meet the requirements of today’s networking where long-distance transmission of data and power is needed, making it a perfect and fast solution to accomplishing a long-distance networking at a low total cost.
Long Reach Power over Ethernet (Long Reach PoE) technology enables the deployment of IP networking at a distance beyond the 100-meter (328-foot) limit, traditionally designed for Ethernet networks, meaning an IP infrastructure can be built in remote areas at any distance without having to worry about power source and re-cabling.
PLANET Long Reach PoE (LRP) solution is designed to extend IP Ethernet transmission and inject power simultaneously over any existing coaxial, UTP, twisted-pair cable or telephone wires for distance up to 1,000m (3,289ft) into PoE IP camera, PoE wireless AP and any 802.3af/at complied powered device (PD). The solution also eliminates the need for an additional power supply for remote sites when the existing single power source enables to provide power to both LRP extenders and the PDs at long range.
PLANET provides two types of Long Reach PoE solution for different applications:

It utilizes BNC connector for coaxial cable interface.
» Long Reach PoE over UTP / twisted-pair copper wires
It utilizes RJ45 connector for 8-wire, 4-wire or 2-wire UTP cables.
PLANET Long Reach PoE solution consists of LRP Switches, LRP Injectors and LRP Extenders which allow your IP network infrastructure to be deployed flexibly anywhere at long range.
PLANET LRP Switch is one multi-channel unit that comes with L2/L4 switching engine, IPv6/IPv4 protocol and single power source. The LRP switches are equipped with 4, 8 or 16 Long Reach PoE injector ports with a built-in power source for all connected LRP Extenders over coaxial cable to power and transmit IP video and data. All the PLANET LRP switches are equipped with additional Gigabit copper ports and 100/1000BASE-X SFP fiber slots for high bandwidth data and video uplink.
As an advanced PoE switch designed for non-stopped surveillance or wireless networks, the LRP Switch series features intelligent PoE management functions such as PD alive check, scheduled power recycling and over temperature protection to improve the availability of critical business applications. Furthermore, the time-based PoE schedule function can be used to control PoE power feeding during specified time intervals to help companies and campuses to save power and money.
The LRP Injector is installed at the head-end location connecting to the NVR or core switch. With the plug and play setup, the LRP Injector can immediately deliver DC power to the LRP Extender where data and power are simultaneously transmitted over a coaxial, UTP or long twisted-pair cable for up to 1,000 meters.
The LRP Extender is designed to transmit power and data to the PoE IP camera, PoE wireless AP and any 802.3af/at PoE PD in a remote area. Powered by the LRP Switch or LRP Injector, the LRP Extender, a single-port 802.3at PoE+ device, provides a maximum of 25-watt power output over Ethernet cable where data and power are transmitted to any PoE PD at the same time.
PLANET Long Reach PoE solution provides superior performance of reliable data and power transmission in long distance for any kind of environment. It can quickly recover the network connection in less than 5 seconds if a connection fails, which is 6 times faster than that with normal Ethernet technology.
With the plug and play feature, PLANET LRP injectors and extenders can be used immediately without the need of configuration and the products are also compliant with all kinds of IP network protocols, offering a convenient installation for point to point network application.
PLANET LRP injectors and extenders can flexibly expand the network by using the BNC T-connector for sharing up to four nodes per port when needed. It greatly facilitates multiple LRP extenders powered by one LRP injector at long range.
