What printers can I use with the Macintosh?

The Disk Server is pre-configured for LaserWriter, and this is the easiest type to use. However, you can use ANY type of printer, provided: You obtain and install the Mac printer driver. You find the "Printer Object Type" for the printer, so this information can be entered on the Disk Server's System - Printer Port tab. If this is not correct, the printer will not appear in Chooser. Example: Using an EPSON Stylus Color 800
1. Connect the Printer to the Disk Server

2. Configure the Disk Server's System - Printer Port tab. Select "Other", and for "Printer Object Type" enter "epsonlq2".

3. Install SC800(AT) driver on each MAC.

4. On the Mac, in Chooser, Select SC800(AT). The Disk Server's printer should appear on the right. Click "Create" to create the Printer Object.

5. You can now print using this printer.
