Most conventional converters function as repeaters; as good as they appear to be may allow network full distance extension only when interconnecting FDX to FDX devices. When there is a need to interconnect FDX/HDX or HDX/HDX devices, the allowed distance drops dramatically to hundreds of meters or even less! PLANET FT-801/FT-802 can solve this problem since they function as bridges.
