The IPOE-171-60W, IPOE-171-95W, POE-171A-60 and POE-171A-95 come with a built-in DIP switch for selecting a PoE mode (Standard/Legacy). The difference between Standard Mode and Legacy Mode is shown below:

  • Standard Mode: The PoE injector will have a handshake with PD. If the PD replies to the PoE injector, and the handshake has failed, the PoE injector will not send the PoE power to the PD.
  • Legacy Mode: The PoE injector will have a handshake with PD. If the PD replies to the PoE injector, and the handshake has failed, the PoE injector will still send the PoE power to the PD.If the PD does not reply the PoE injector, it means the PD does not support PoE; the PoE injector will not send the PoE power to the PD.

  1. Please check the cable type of the connection from one end of the IPOE-171-60W to the other end. The cable should be an 8-wire UTP, Category 5e/6, EIA568 cable used within the distance of 100 meters. The power transmission will be affected if a cable with only 4-wire, short loop is used for a distance of over 100 meters.
  2. Please check to make sure the device is fully complied with IEEE 802.3bt standard.
If the device is only complied with IEEE 802.3af/802.3at standard, power off the IPOE-171-60W, switch it to Legacy mode, power on the device again and then connect it to the device.

According the latest IEEE 802.3bt standard, the voltage range of PSE is 52~56V DC. Please connect 52~56V DC input to IPOE-171-60W, and then check whether there is PoE output.

[IPOE-171-95W (V3)]For transportation and industrial-level applications, the IPOE-171-95W adopts 12~48V DC to 54V power boost technology to solve power source issue. If the DC input is 49~56V, the IPOE-171-95W will still work but pass through the power without the power boost technology.

[ISW-504PT] Check each port LED on the Industrial PoE+ Switch. Try another port on the Industrial PoE+ Switch. Make sure the cable is installed properly and the right type. Turn off the power. After a while, turn on the power again.

A :

[ISW-504PT] Check whether the attached device is not set to dedicated full duplex. Some devices use a physical or software switch to change duplex modes. Auto-negotiation may not recognize this type of full-duplex setting.
