My computer seems to constantly disconnect from my wireless network and for no apparent reason even though my computer is pretty close to the access point. What can I do?

The wireless configuration utilities (no matter the system built-in Windows Zero Configuration utility or PLANET utility) are designed to help non-technical users to make the initial wireless connections easily. Therefore, the utility searches for any available access point every few minutes. Once it finds new access points, it may try to "auto-connect" these new stations and disconnect from current AP.

This mechanism is very useful in some aspects; however, some users may think it is really annoying. To stop the constant update mechanism, you can disable the wireless utility after you have successfully connected to a desired access point.
